Venue Information

The Dean E. Smith Center is a major indoor venue in Chapel Hill, best known as the home court of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill men's basketball team. Its connection to Tar Heels basketball makes game nights a distinctive experience for fans, with the arena serving as a focal point for college sports in the area.

The venue is named for Dean Smith, the longtime North Carolina coach whose career helped establish the program's national reputation. While basketball is central to the arena's identity, the building can also host other events. The schedule and setup depend on the event, so confirm the details on the listing before making plans.

Demand can be especially high for prominent basketball matchups, and available seats may differ from one game to another. Ticket prices are set by the event and may change with demand; avoid relying on a fixed estimate without checking the specific event listing. Review the ticket details carefully, including the event date, section, row, and any stated terms, before completing a purchase.

• Event schedules and seating arrangements may vary.
• High-profile games may have limited availability.
• Check the listing for current ticket details and event-specific information.

Seating Information

Seating arrangements depend on the event. Basketball games use an arena-style configuration around the court, while other events may require a different setup. Consult the seating map attached to the specific event listing to confirm the location and orientation of a seat before purchasing.

For basketball, seats closer to the court offer a more immediate view of the action, while elevated seats can provide a broader perspective of the floor. The best choice depends on personal preference and budget; compare the listed section and row rather than relying on section names alone.

Parking Information

Parking arrangements can vary by event and campus operations. Check the event information and official venue guidance before traveling for current parking locations, access instructions, and any restrictions. Allow extra time on major game days, when traffic and parking demand around the arena may be higher.

Because parking availability, pricing, and access details are not uniform across events, confirm current information before leaving. If driving, review your route and parking plan in advance, and follow event-day signs and staff directions near the venue.
